Detta verk får mig att tänka på temat Migration. Li Kioko arbetade alltid i olika teman
med flera bilder.
Jag tycker bilden speglar den tid vi går igenom med oro, ovisshet men med vissheten om att styrkan finns i medkänslan och gemenskapen hos varandra.

She always liked to be and collaborate with arquitects, here with the arquitect Lars Ågren who renovated the old barn where he started to arrange selected classical conserts 1990-2000.

What I like with Marcus Appelbergs crowdcultureproject is that he invites his international and swedish studentmates to exhibit together. The cooperation with Klasse Ikemura seems interesting and it looks like he has inspired Marcus in his pure expression.
Indirectly this feels like an exchange in the spirit of Li Kioko as she always strived to collaborate with other young/artists and borderless meetings in mutual fruitful ways. In this way I can feel her prescence.

Det jag gillar med Marcus Appelbergs crowdcultureprojekt är att han bjuder in sina intrenationella och svenska studentkamrater. Samarbetet med Klasse Ikemura verkar intressant och har nog inspirerat Marcus i hans renodlade uttryckssätt.
Indirekt känns detta som ett utbyte i Li Kiokos anda eftersom hon alltid ville samarbeta med andra yngre/ konstnärer och i gränsöverskridande ömsesidigt givande fruktbara möten. På så sätt kan jag känna hennes närvaro.

Boken rymmer tavlor och dikter i en poetisk blandning. Gamla och nya fotografier.
Lis tidiga verk och de senaste från 2009, såsom; Barnkrigare, övre bilden,  (på Rörstorpsskolan i Värnamo.)
Hennes titlar blev alltmer sparsmakade med åren och de sista tavlorna har samma titlar som böcker, exempelvis Mörkrets Hjärta , (Joseph Conrad) och Krig och Fred (Leo Tolstoj) undre bilden (i Katolska kyrkan i Jönköping.)

The book contains paintings and poems, old and new photos.
Lis early work as her latest from 2009 as; Childwarrior, the picture above.
Her latest works has the same titles as books, for example Heart of Darkness (Joseph Conrad) and War and Peace (Leo Tolstoj), the picture below.

Nu börjar jag närma mig insamlingsmålet på 60.000 kronor som täcker tryckkostnaderna.
STORT TACK till alla er som stöttat mig för att kunna förverkliga detta projekt!
Vid insamlingsmålet tar de regionala bidragen slut, men kampanjen kan fortsätta till slutet av december.
Nu återstår arbetet med layouten. Jag satte en tidsmarginal för att bli klar på 18 månader, men min förhoppning är att boken kan bli klar tidigare, kanske till sommaren.
Fortsätt gärna sprida till andra som kan vara intresserade att bidra för att boken ska bli så bra som möjligt.
Så småningom skickar jag  vykort med bokomslaget till er.
Funderar också på en dag för dem som vill komma och hämta sitt pappersverk som följer med boken. Återkommer om det.

I´m getting closer to the goal 60.000 swedish crowns which covers the costs for printing.

When I reach the goal the regional fundcontribution will stop, but the collectioncampaign can continue until the end of december.
The work with the layout is what remains. I put a timelimit for 18 months, but I hope the book will be ready before, maybe summertime.
Please continue to spread to others who might be interested to contribute for the best result.
Sooner I´ll send you the postcard with the cover of the book.

Plötsligt har jag fått ett stort gäng stödjare, vet inte om det beror på Linda Nordfors kurs jag gick i helgen,The art of living your brand där man ska lära sig att "leva det man gör" (svårt.!) eller/och om det beror på Marcus Appelbergs crowdcultureprojekt jag stöttar varmt. Hur som helst blev jag jätteglad och vill tacka er alla där ute! Det är nervigt att hoppa ut och försöka leva sin dröm, men om man sträcker ut en hand kan man få hjälp..!

All of a sudden I got a big number of supporters, I don´t know if it´s thanks Linda Nordfors course I went recently, The art of living your brand (difficult.!) or/and because of Marcus Appelbergs crowdcultureproject which I warmly support. Whatsoever I´m so happy and want to thank you all out there! It´s scary to jump out and try to live your dream, but if you reach out for help you can get it..!

Book finally arrived and is sent out for you who ordered it. I hope it can transfer some of the inspiration and hope that Li Kioko gave.
The relese will be somewhere in Jönköping during the spring, where you also can by it or through me. You can meil me or call.
The prize is 200 swedish crowns.
Once again, thank you all, it feels like finally having a baby born..!

I also want to mention Marcus Appelberg, who had his crowdcultureproject and the groupexhibition Mantra at Tändsticksgränd in Jönköping. I look forward to his next exhibition here, 7:th of mai where the theme of the paintings is "Cracks, flaws". Appelberg is inspired of japanese art and culture, and the japanese artist Leiko Ikemura is his professor at the University of art in Berlin. Together with her he made the exhibition catalogue for the school this year.

De sista målningarna 2008-2009 var i kvadratiska format, större och mindre. Målade med lätt hand som kalligrafiska tecken, många var inte signerade. En bild har sin egen skrivstil.

The last paintings from 2008-2009 were quadratics, both bigger and smaller. Painted with light hand like calligraphys, many were not signed. A picture has its own script.

Boken ger en glimt av Lis uppväxt och bakgrund. Fadern Tsunehiko Shiokawa kom från en samurajsläkt, var zenbuddist, och hade många slags jobb när han emigrerade som 13-åring från Japan till Brasilien.
Modern Hime Ioneda kom från en köpmannasläkt.
Li gick i katolsk nunneskola som ung. Hon blev tidigt litteraturintresserad, ville bli en poet och fick ett litteraturstipendium till Europa.

The book give glimpses of Lis background and growth. The father Tsunehiko Shiokawa was related to samurais, and a zenbuddist. He had different jobs when he emigrated from Japan to Brazil, 13 years old.
The mother Hime Ioneda came from a family of merchants.
Li went to a catholic school driven by nuns in her youth. Early she became interested in litterature, wanted to be a poet and received a scholarship in litterature which brought her to Europe.

Dear supporters, please send me some strengthening thoughts now, I´m in the ending phase of the work, quite exhausting (it feels like I have been here for a long time now..) Many details to go through which requires a lot of patience.
I want to be ready but I can´t rush and force to quickly.

The cover of the book will not be as I thought, nor will the title, but it´s better.
So in springtime it will hopefully be ready and sent to you who ordered.
I also decided not to put any specific names of supporters in the book to keep it as "clean" as possible. I hope this will be fine for you. (I´ll only mention thanks to private supporters and regional contribution through CrowdCulture.)
Here is a painting of Li which appears in the end.

Det handlar om att sålla och välja vad som ska vara med och i vilken ordning. Att redigera och kasta om så att det blir rätt form och rytm. Det gäller också att ställa sig utanför som en "objektiv" betraktare, se vad som är relevant i sammanhanget, eller om det blir för privat, även ha kopplingen till nuet.
Det är en svår balansgång som tar tid, men en deadline hjälper.
Bland mina mejl hittade jag detta efter V-Art 09 i Värnamo som vi planerade med Li innan hon gick bort. I utställningen "It´s not an exhibition" ingick denna tavla från samma år, Hemåt.

It´s about editing what will be and in which order, form and rythm. It´s also about putting myself aside like an objective spectator, to see what´s relevant in the context, so it doesn´t get to private, also with the connection with the present. It´s a difficult balance which takes time, but a deadline helps.
Among my emails I found one from after V-Art 09 in Värnamo which we planned together with Li before she passed away. In the exhibition "It´s not an exhibition" was this painting from the same year, Turn back home.

Boksläppet kommer att bli på Jönköpings läns museum den 22 maj (fast en del redan börjat köpa efter förfrågan).
Det kommer att hållas ganska enkelt i form av ett samtal mellan museichefen Sergei Muchin, jag och Erling Gustafsson från Eksjö som gjort den fina layouten. Erling Gustafsson delade intresset för det japanska pappret med Li. Han har också lärt sig tillverka sitt eget papper i Japan enligt den gamla traditionen av japanska pappersmakare. Dessutom samarbetade han med Li i ett Konstens dag och natt i Norrahammar.

The bookrelease will be at Jönköpings countymuseum the 22 of mai (even though some people have already started to by it).
It will be quite simple and in form of a conversation between Sergei Muchin, the chief of the museum, me and Erling Gustafsson from Eksjö, who made the excellent layout. Erling Gustafsson shared the interest of japanese paper with Li. He learnt to make his own paper in Japan by the old tradition and japanese papermakers. He also collaborated with Li in the artproject Konstens dag och natt in Norrahammar.

Welcome to the bookrelease!

Today it´s Li Kiokos heavenly birthday. The painting War and peace, in the church in Jönköping (picture from 2010).
Today we´ll go to Stjärneborgs slott in Aneby to see an exhibition with Lisbeth Hertelendy. Her husbands father Zsolt Hertelendy from Hungary collaborated with Li Kioko in many creative projects in schools, as making and flying kites which she loved to do.

Jag ska vara med på Råslättsdagen idag lördag den 5 september, på Råslätts bibliotek. Där säljer jag boken om Li Kioko och visar två tavlor. Besökarna får rösta på vilken de skulle vilja ha på Stadsgården, ett bostadsområde att vara stolta över i Jönköping.
Li Kioko var också verksam här med sina konstprojekt.

I will participate On The day of Råslätt, saturday 5 september at the library of Råslätt. I´ll sell the book about Li Kioko and show two paintings where the visitors can vote which one they would like to have on Stadsgården, a housing area with many different cultures to be proud of in Jönköping.

The bookrelease at the Jönköping county museum went fine, I felt the presence of Li Kioko, she was happy with the music performed by Sergei Muchin and Karin Seiborg who improvised from the painting Passion.
The mixture of people was as she liked - unexpected and surprisingly with new encounters cross the borders.
Thanks to all of you this project suceeded at last, and I´m overwhelmed with all the reactions of the book.
You can buy it at the Jönköpings county museum or through me. I also left some at Göran Westers shop in Jönköping where Li bought her artistmateriel.
It will be available at some of the libraries in the county of Jönköping, and at the universitylibraries in Sweden.

Boksläppet på Jönköpings läns museum gick bra, jag kände Li Kiokos närvaro, att hon var mycket glad över musikframträdandet av Sergei Muchin och Karin Seiborg som improviserade utifrån målningen Passion.
Blandningen av människor var precis som hon gillade - med nya överraskande och gränsöverskridande möten.
Tack vare er alla lyckades detta projekt till slut och jag är överväldigad av reaktionerna över boken.
Boken kan köpas på länsmuseet eller via mig. Jag har också lämnat några hos Göran Westers butik.
Den kommer att finnas på en del av länets bibliotek, förutom på universitetsbiblioteken i Sverige.

In her speech Kaarina also made the comparison with Lis art and the finnish stone Spektrolit – with all its variations and shifting (blue) nuances depending on the light and all the layers behind, It´s impossible to describe and capture in words, like Maria and God it has so many dimensions.

The book about Li finding it´s way out in the world.

I gave it to the swedish catholic bishop Anders Arborelius and sister Katarina Rask in Holy hearts monastery near Omberg and Vadstena.

En liten men tapper skara kom till Sandseryds kyrka och församlingsgård och 10-årsjubileum för Konst- och musikfestivalen. Tack Norrahammars församling för inbjudan till denna vackra kyrka!
Not so many as we wished came to Sandseryds kyrka and the 10-yearjubilée of the Art- and musicfestival, but I hope those who came appreciated the paintings of Li, with titles and motives inspired by the Bible. We hope to repeat again in another church.

It´s a bit exhausting and you get vulnerable with an exhibition. (Why am I doing this and for whom?) I go there in different occasions, yesterday it was the meeting with CuperTino, the group for foreign students, with Biblestudy and praying. (Copertino is the saint for students and airborne/pilots)

The church has so many activities and reunions with different groups of people, from different cultures. It´s also a way for me to know them and participate during the Maria-exhibition (until 19 of June)

It´s not primary for selling, even if it´s also a way to meet people interested in buying the art of Li. If other churches are interested to show it, they can order through the educational association Bilda.

Exhibition with paintings on the theme Maria and titles from the Bible which was an inspiration for Li Kioko. Open 21 of may and the exhibition will be open for 3-4 weeks in the catholic church in Jönköping.

Junior and the brazilian embassador in Sweden, Marcos Pinta Gama got my book. (The ambassador here because of Brazils buying of Jas Gripen which is produced in Linköping.)

I´m partcipating in "Art as a part" with this painting of Li, where the donations and benefits go to Erikshjälpen and the refugees.
